Flagstaff

Yesterday, I traveled South towards the Arizona border, at about 2 hrs.  The scenery was similar, but not as impressive as Moab.  I bypassed the"Four Corners", where Ariz., Utah, Colorado, and New Mex. all meet. (the only place in the U.S. where it occurs).  There were a lot more of the salt formations that appear to be bubbling out of the ground.  Still pretty much barren country, with very little population.  Highways criss-cross everywhere though!  There's certainly no shortage of places to drive.  It was warm all the way at about 25 , mainly sun/cloud.  The elevation remained high, at about 6000' most of the way, but Flagstaff is 6900, and there's a ski hill nearby.  I haven't seen any snow though.  Once I crossed into Ariz., another hwy took me SW to Hwy 89 and then S to Flagstaff,  bypassing the Grand Canyon, which Sally and I saw in the Spring, so no need to do again.  The highway was 2 lane a lot of the way, and rather rough.  Everyone still traveling at 70-75 MPH though!  Flagstaff is where the notorious "Route 66" passes through East-West.

Today is the last leg of my journey, as should be in Tucson, via Phoenix, in about 3 hrs, 45 min.  Not looking forward to the freeways in Phoenix!  I'll bypass Sedona, as want to come back later when I can spend more time.  I'll be dropping down to about 1000' elevation, so will be much warmer...supposed to be about 90 Far. there today.  Got the shorts and sandals; I'm ready!  I have a couple of houses/condos to look at to stay in for the winter.  I put some pics of the trip over on Instagram.
